A few days ago I took advantage of the warmer weather and went on a photo excursion with Verlaine into the wilds of Detroit. We didn’t go with any plan, but just drive until we saw something that caught our attention. V was distracted by a poorly painted sign and I was drawn to the words “$20,000 Needs Roof” spray painted on the front of a building.
It was enough to get us to stop the car and get out the cameras. On both sides of the building were empty lots, so it was easy to walk around.
When I walked behind the building I was happy to see that there was an open door. From what V and I could gather this used to be a used furniture and appliance store. And that one day the owners closed up with everything still in the shop.
And they were right…. it needs a roof
