The last few months have been a war with myself over should I craft or should I be a slug. For the most part the slug won. But now the flowers are in bloom and I can hear birds chirping and that has gotten me off my butt and out taking pictures. This was taken today on a lunchtime jaunt with my friend Mark. Since I am whiter than white I even got a bit of a sunburn.
This Saturday I will be hanging out at Blue House with some really amazingly crafty people. Stop down and say hi.
The library where work recently decided to get rid of their card catalog and I was lucky enough to be able to get one of the units for my very own.
The bonus is that it came with cards!
Here is one of the projects I have made with them…
I have a few other projects in mind, but this is a good start.
I haven’t collaged in awhile and I am not sure when I will get back to it, but I did make a few cards out of the collages I made earlier in the year. I haven’t really made any cards in the last year or so, unless they were special orders (Thank you Nancy Drew!) It felt good to get back to it.
Today I am a bit sore from my fall yesterday. No bruises, but lots of aches. Still I am able to laugh about it…. cause I fell in to a SHRUB. It is ridiculous.
Okay, so I don’t normally do this sort of thing, but I am going to give it a shot. The library I work at is getting rid of all of it’s card catalogs next week and I really really really (probably a few more reallys but that might be overkill) want one, but the bank balance is saying “no”. What is an enterprising girl to do? She takes to the internet and asks people to help her out. Anyone who makes a donation to the cause will get a bit of Chicaloo merch. It could be a magnet, a photo or notebook. Maybe even something made out of the cards in the card catalog. I haven’t figured out how to add a PayPal Donate button here, but my email is chicalookate @ gmail.com (without spaces) Just make sure your correct address is listed and I will send something fab your way. Thanks!
Back to your regularly scheduled blog…
And just to amuse everyone. I was going to an appointment earlier and ended up tripping and falling head first in to a shrub. To about my waist. I think this one is going to leave a mark, but it makes for a good story.
My friend Gene owns Motte & Bailey Bookshop here in town. He was nice enough to let me take some pictures of some of his stock. Books make me happy… even if it is just pictures of books.
Also, I will be attending First Friday in Depot Town if anyone is in the Ypsilanti area and wants to come by and say hi.
